Truffle Ceremony in the Netherlands

Magic truffle ceremonies for one or two people, held in a homely ceremonial space in Noordwijk, a village located directly by the sea, about 35 km south of Amsterdam

The word ‘psychedelics’ originates from Greek and literally means: ‘mind-revealing’ or ‘that which makes the mind visible.’
We are currently experiencing a revival of psychedelic use in the West. It is becoming increasingly clear that psychedelics can have many positive effects. When used wisely, the risks are very small.

Working with psychedelics is my passion. They are a very powerful tool for consciousness development and healing. I work with psilocybin-containing ‘magic’ truffles, which have the same effect as magic mushrooms, except that truffles are legal in the Netherlands and mushrooms are not.

Psychedelics have the potential to push your daily thought patterns and frame of reference into the background for a few hours, allowing you to enter a different state of consciousness.

There can be many reasons for wanting to participate in a truffle ceremony. It can range from personal development, life questions, and spiritual growth to healing from depressive symptoms, burnout, or trauma. Or perhaps you are simply curious about what the truffle has to tell you. Or…

In Noordwijk, I offer truffle ceremonies in a private setting and as a one-day retreat: individually or together with your partner or a friend.

Safety is my top priority. That’s why, in addition to a written intake, a video call is scheduled before the truffle ceremony. Furthermore, truffle ceremonies where truffles are served in their pure form are legal in the Netherlands.

To support integration, I provide you with tips and guidance after the ceremony, and we stay in touch via WhatsApp, Signal, or email.

If you would like to sign up or first would like to ask me some questions, please send me a message via the contact page. I will then send you an intake form to assess whether you can safely participate in a truffle ceremony and if there are any specific points of attention.

Once your intake is approved, we schedule an online introduction meeting, and you will receive all the necessary information to prepare for the truffle ceremony. We will also set a date together.

What You May Experience During a Truffle Ceremony

Participating in a truffle ceremony generally means embarking on a deep, transformative inner journey—a journey through the field of consciousness: your personal unconscious, the collective unconscious, and divine layers of awareness.

How this unfolds is different for everyone and even varies from one inner journey to another. You may, for example, connect with your inner wisdom. It can help you face and resolve problems, blockages, and patterns. You may also become aware of old pain and traumas. Your spiritual development may accelerate, you might experience deep self-love, gain insight into the nature of existence, or receive revelations about the meaning of life—among many other possibilities.

In general, whatever remains unresolved seeks resolution, and whatever is unconscious seeks awareness. Most importantly, you will receive exactly what you need—never more than you can handle.

You Get What You Need, Not Always What You Want

Setting an intention helps to focus the energy during your journey; however, the truffle may lead you to completely different experiences than you expected. This often means that something else needs to be revealed or processed first. Trust in the wisdom of the truffle. Sometimes, the meaning or purpose of what is shown only becomes clear over time, and sometimes the messages are symbolic.

An inner journey can be both confronting and magnificent. A truffle ceremony is an intense experience that often has a transformative effect. Even in the days following the journey, you may remain highly open, with insights and memories continuing to surface in your consciousness.

For this reason, it is a good idea to keep your schedule clear the day after your inner journey.

When Can You Not Participate in a Truffle Ceremony?

Although psilocybin is not harmful to the body, there are situations where using magic truffles can pose risks. Please know that there are alternative ways to engage in deep inner work, and I am happy to inform you about them.

You cannot participate in a truffle ceremony with me if any of the following apply:

  • Physical conditions: including heart disease, high blood pressure, kidney disease, unstable diabetes mellitus, stroke (CVA), epilepsy
  • Mental health conditions: including (predisposition to) schizophrenia, (predisposition to) psychosis, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, severe depression, severe anxiety disorder
  • Medication use: including antidepressants, tramadol, lithium, benzodiazepines
  • Alcohol or drug use in the days surrounding the truffle ceremony
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • Under 18 years of age

Not sure if you qualify? Feel free to reach out for an introductory conversation. Together, we can determine whether it is safe for you to participate in a truffle ceremony.

Integration After an Inner Journey Is Essential and Often Underestimated

In reality, the transformation process truly begins after the truffle ceremony. During the ceremony, the healing of inner wounds may begin, or you may receive insights—some of which have the potential to be life-changing.

However, if you simply return to your daily life without applying what the truffle has shown you, nothing will change! Integration is essential.

This means making time to turn inward—to reflect on what certain emotions or thoughts are trying to tell you. Activities such as walking in nature, journaling, meditating, and practicing breathwork can be very helpful.

It can also be highly beneficial to schedule one or more follow-up sessions with me after the ceremony. This allows us to explore your insights, questions, emotions, confusion, or intentions together. Such sessions foster true transformation and help you get the most out of your inner journey.

If you are new to psychedelics, have a complex situation, feel nervous about the experience, or wish to clarify your intention for the ceremony, a preparation session before your truffle ceremony is also a valuable option.

Schedule of the Truffle Ceremony

We start the day at 11:00 AM (1:00 PM if you are staying overnight in the ceremony space) with tea, a deeper introduction, and a discussion of your themes and intentions. This is followed by a visualization or another exercise to help quiet the mind and bring you more into your body, ensuring you are optimally prepared for a profound inner journey.

For a couples ceremony, various exercises take place before the truffle session, focusing on truly seeing and hearing each other and strengthening your connection.

After receiving detailed information about what to expect during the journey, it is time for the truffle ceremony.

During the ceremony, you will be guided by music, and I will be present the entire time to support you in your process.

After the journey, which lasts about 4-5 hours, we share a simple vegetarian meal, and you are welcome to discuss your experiences or write them down. Once you feel fully “grounded” again, we wrap up around 7:00 PM.

In principle, you can return home. However, if you live farther away, I strongly advise arranging a pickup or staying overnight, as it often takes time to fully integrate and land after the experience.

Overnight Stay Options

There are many hotels in Noordwijk, but you can also choose to stay overnight in the ceremony space for a small additional fee. After the ceremony, the space is transformed into a simple yet private bed & breakfast. With the sea and dunes just a five-minute walk away, a refreshing stroll is easily within reach. The next morning, after breakfast and a short sharing session, we say our goodbyes.

Who am I?

After working as a general practitioner for nine years, followed by several years as a physician in occupational health services, I (Marieke de Leeuw, 1972) found my way to coaching. I retrained and, in 2015, opened my coaching practice, focusing on consciousness development.

I came to realize that this journey is about learning and daring to listen to your heart, embracing courage and authenticity. It’s about slowing down, facing your shadows, exploring them, and bringing them into the light—becoming increasingly aware of the unconscious. It means daring to remove masks and becoming ever more “real”. The power of vulnerability.

During a Voice Dialogue training, I was introduced to psychedelics when my trainer shared his (very positive) experiences with ayahuasca. Something inside me resonated deeply—I knew that one day, I too would drink this brew. But at that time, it still felt too daunting.

By 2020, I was ready and participated in my first ayahuasca ceremony. This led me to pursue a year-long training in process work and ayahuasca facilitation, where I learned to guide ayahuasca ceremonies and gained deeper insights into spiritual and psychological processes.

During this journey, I discovered that psilocybin-containing mushrooms and truffles are my plant medicine, the one I wanted to work with. I embarked on numerous inner journeys and completed a year-long training as a truffle ceremony facilitator (HOLY shit.). There, I mastered the art of working with truffles and learned how to safely and effectively facilitate truffle ceremonies. I also trained in bodywork, integrating it into and around the ceremony experience.

Today, my focus is fully on working with truffles. I facilitate truffle ceremonies, guided microdosing, and offer preparation and integration sessions to support deep inner journeys with truffles.
